The differences between Cannabinoids can be determined by their chemical structure and prevalence within the plant. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a prevalent cannabinoid in the cannabis plant that has no psychoactive effect. Another prevalent cannabinoid is the psychoactive compound THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). The remaining cannabinoids are found at lower concentrations in the cannabis plant and are thought to act in concert with the main cannabinoids, to exert an ‘entourage’ effect.
