A fuller understanding of the substances found in the cannabis plant has only been with us since the mid-20th century. The chemical compound cannabidiol – otherwise known as CBD – was first isolated in the 1940's. It added, “To date, there is no evidence of recreational use of CBD or any public health-related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”
